Who Is Tene Williams?

Hi, my name is Tene Williams, a 17 year entrepreneurial veteran.  I’m a divorced mother of three beautiful children ages 21, 19 and 6 years old.  My oldest son is in the Army currently serving our country in Afghanistan, my 18 year old just graduated High School with honors and will be starting his collegiate career shortly and my munchkin goes to first grade this year!  I believe the only reason for financial freedom is to help others.  God blesses those of us who bless others and that’s the base of my core beliefs.

After 13 years in the business of mortgage banking and real estate investments I found myself looking for something that could maintain and increase the lifestyle of myself and my family after the real estate bubble burst.  Much like many other entrepreneurs I’ve had my share of successes and failures in my continued search for financial freedom and have dabbled in network marketing over the years.  I made Regional Director with Primerica Financial Services in my college days.  Several years later when Quixtar launched I joined in with Quixtar and I also joined YTB (your travel business) in 2006.  With these first three network marketing ventures they were mildly successful so I always had these network marketing ventures going in addition to my regular businesses.

I found my network marketing niche when I was introduced to Ambit Energy about a month after it’s NYC launch in June 2007.  I was looking for that business that would replace my mortgage banking career because all of the subprime mortgage banks were closing like dominos.  I knew I had to find something fast before my family’s livelihood would be threatened.  So I put full time hours into building a team and running meetings in the Bronx.  I had the pleasure of meeting and building with Carlos Marin, Steve Thompson, Uri Kasperov, Manuel Cintron and many others.  It was a race to the finish line and I loved it!  Unfortunately one of my traditional businesses and a pending divorce took me away from Ambit by February of 2008 and I just never got back to it again.  Although I collected a nice residual income from Ambit for the next 2+ years!  The team was gone but the customers kept paying their electricity bills!  I believe this is the highest customer retention that exists in business today.

In January of 2010 I started looking for an alternative business opportunity and found Numis Network.  Once again, I built a fantastic team right from the start.  I was lucky enough to have been on Ray Higdon and Cedrick Harris’ team and learned all about internet marketing by joining the MLSP system with Larry Beacham.  The new found knowledge on internet marketing changed my career.  Now that network marketing was to be my full time career I worked day and night learning everything I could about how to be successful from the veterans of network marketing.   Although I made it to 3 star in less than 90 days with Numis, I was fortunate to have been pitched about energy once again on LinkedIn by Rick Firth.  I knew the energy business and the AMA Nation compensation and business plan seemed a but better than the Ambit comp plan because they offered more states, the promise of a green energy department and an opportunity in the commercial sector.   It was extremely exciting to say the least and I built an impressive team.  I was named the top female income earner in the company and between May 2o1o and February 2011 my team grew to over 800 fellow business owners in my downline and over 4000 customers.  There seemed to be a promising future.

Unfortunately, the business model didn’t work out as planned and there were disagreements among the owners.  As a proven leader now in the energy industry I was offered positions with Viridian, Momentis, CCM, NAP, AMPEGY and EMEX.  I evaluated all of the opportunities closely.  Having had the experience with building both AMA and Ambit Energy I knew a bit about compensation plans and the energy industry as a whole.  In my daily recruiting, speaking to others in the energy business I learned a great deal about the other companies from the eyes of the reps which gave me even more insight into the stability of the companies.  Now having been through the dissappointment of AMA Nation, I was very careful to make a measured decision to leave AMA in March of 2011 before it finally went out of business in June 2011.  The remainder of 2011 was a year of research, growth and development for myself and my team.  We knew we were passionate about energy, we knew that this is the vehicle with stability for the future that can bring financial freedom and finally found a home with North American Power.
